At RiverGlen, we believe intentional relationships are key to spiritual growth. Jesus was intentional in His mission of reaching the world with the good news of His love and grace and He used t a world-changing strategy of pouring his life into a group of people…His disciples.  That's why small groups, care groups and classes are such an important part of our discipleship strategy. In a group or class, people open God's word together and discuss life issues and challenges.  It's also where they pray for each other, care for one another and are missed if they don't show up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Group or Class?

Small Groups are typically 8-15 people connecting together and studying God’s Word.  Groups usually meet weekly or bi-weekly at homes, restaurants, workplaces or here at RiverGlen.   Most groups meet for 1 ½ -2 hours and will meet anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks.

Classes are typically 10 or more people meeting together to study a topic for a specific period of time.  Classes are usually held weekly for 1 ½ -2 hours here at RiverGlen and meet for 6-12 weeks depending on the course material.

Groups and classes launch three times a year based on semesters utilizing our brochure and website.  This allows people the opportunity to try out different groups.   Groups and classes are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.

What kinds of groups are there?

How long does a group last?

Groups initially commit to meet for six to twelve weeks depending on their curriculum.  After that, the group members decide if they want to continue meeting together.

What goes on at a group meeting?

Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups have a social time in the beginning, then they transition to a time where they discuss the book they are studying and pray for each other. At the very beginning of the group, the whole group decides how much time they will spend on social, discussion, and prayer time (as well as the order in which they take place).

What do groups study?

Each group picks their own curriculum to study with the help of their Group Leaders and the guidance of RiverGlen Staff.

Is childcare provided?

Paid Childcare is provided for some groups or classes.  See the current schedule for specifics.
