OUTREACH

our history

RiverGlen Christian Church began meeting at Waukesha West High School in 1997. Every Sunday, they would set up and tear down for services. God moved and the church grew. With a dedicated group of volunteers and a church launch team, RiverGlen broke ground in 2003 on the Waukesha site off of Sunset Drive. In 2018, RiverGlen launched a second campus in Pewaukee. RiverGlen is a place where everyone is welcome, no matter where you’re at in faith or life. With a desire to be part of the community, RG strives to host and participate in community outreach and events, plants and supports other churches, and strives to serve on a global scale.

beliefs

JESUS

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross for our sins, arose bodily from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven, and is coming again (Matthew 1:18, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, John 14:3, and John 1:1).

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is a free gift bestowed by God’s grace and is received by faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:21-25).

THE CHURCH

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the church, and that the local church has the right under Christ to decide and take care of its own affairs (Matthew 16:18).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:8-15, Titus 3:5).

THE BIBLE

We believe the scriptures, both Old and New Testament, to be divinely inspired and authoritative (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

THE TRINITY

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

SIN

We believe all people are sinners in need of salvation (Romans 3:23).

NEW BELIEVERS

We believe that God calls new believers to express their faith through repentance (Acts 2:38, 3:19), confession (Romans 10:9-10), and baptism (Matthew 28-19, Romans 6:3-4).

COMMUNION

We believe the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ observed regularly by Christians (Luke 22:19, Acts 2:42).

ETERNITY

We believe in the resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 16:19-31).
