At RiverGlen, our mission is rooted in the call to build relationships and love all people—because God loves all people. We live that mission by connecting in community, contributing to God’s work, and celebrating the ways He moves in our lives and in our neighborhoods. One of the ways we continue to live this out is through our ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha and Jefferson Counties.
Over the years, we've had the privilege of working alongside Habitat in their mission to build homes, communities, and hope. This relationship has allowed us to support families right here in our community, providing not just financial support, but also a steady stream of volunteers, prayers, and encouragement. Most recently, we’re honored to be sponsoring the construction of a new Habitat home off Oakland Avenue in Waukesha.
This isn’t just about building a house. It’s about demonstrating God’s love in action. It’s about creating space for connection and restoration. And it’s about showing up for people in our community the way Jesus shows up for each of us.
Habitat for Humanity shares a vision that resonates deeply with RiverGlen's purpose. Their work to bring people together to build safe, affordable housing aligns with our calling to serve and care for the lost, the hurting, and the overlooked. We believe that when we give generously, serve boldly, and love unconditionally, lives are transformed—including our own.
Scripture reminds us to live with an eternal perspective: "Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life" (1 Timothy 6:18–19). When we serve others, we’re not just meeting immediate needs—we’re investing in something lasting and eternal.
This latest build on Oakland Avenue is a continuation of a shared mission to put faith into action. It's a chance for each of us to participate in something eternal—to create not just shelter, but a home where love, safety, and hope flourish.
Picture this:
A hardworking parent finally gaining the stability of homeownership
Children growing up in a safe, welcoming space
A neighborhood being renewed through shared love and labor
We don’t want to just talk about faith. We want to live it out. And you can be part of it:
Join a volunteer build team and work alongside Habitat staff and the future homeowner
Pray over the family, the volunteers, and the future of this home
Contribute financially to help offset building costs and increase our impact
This partnership is more than a project—it's a declaration of who we are as a church. We are people who connect, contribute, and celebrate. We are people who love deeply and give freely. And we are people who believe that faith should always lead to action.
