Being a Church on Mission

At RiverGlen, missions aren't just a ministry—they're part of our DNA. From our very first service to today, we've always been a church fueled by the call to go, to give, and to grow God's Kingdom—here in Wisconsin and around the world.
Whether you’ve just joined us or you’ve been around since the beginning, you’ve probably heard this before: we exist to make more and better followers of Jesus. That mission drives everything we do. And one of the most powerful ways we live that out is by being a church planting, missions-driven community.
Church Planting: It’s in Our Roots
Since launching in 1997, RiverGlen has helped plant 14 churches across the country and around the globe. From local neighborhoods in Milwaukee to unreached places like Panama and, most recently, Japan—your generosity and bold faith are leaving a legacy that spans continents.
Each new church plant is more than a new building or a service time—it’s an opportunity for more people to encounter the love of Jesus, grow in authentic community, and step into their God-given purpose.
Living Out the Mission Locally & Globally
We believe the church should be the hands and feet of Jesus. That’s why missions at RiverGlen take many forms. Through partnerships with organizations like Lifeline Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and Bridge Builders Milwaukee, we've packed meals, built homes, and served those in need. And through our annual Big Offering Giveaway, we’ve given back over $1 million—every dollar going out the doors of our church and into the lives of others.
We don’t just send money. We send people. We encourage our RiverGlen family to go—whether that means joining a short-term mission trip, helping launch a new campus, or serving right here in our neighborhoods. Because we’re convinced: the love of Jesus is meant to move.
A Story from the Mission Field
Watch the video below to hear a real story from one of our RiverGlen families. You’ll see how God used one mom and her kids on their first mission trip to stir something bigger—a deep sense of connection, calling, and life change. We hope their journey encourages you to take your own next step into missions.
